I love chocolate! And these cookies taste like brownies. So delicious freshly baked and still warm from the oven. This recipe makes about 2 1/2 to 3 dozen cookies.
Recipe: 1 cup of granulated sugar ¾ cup of brown sugar 1/2 cup unsalted butter or margarine – at room temperature ½ cup shortening 1 teaspoon of vanilla 2 eggs 2 ½ cups of all-purpose flour ½ cup of unsweetened cocoa powder 1 teaspoon of baking soda ¼ teaspoon of salt 1 cup of dark chocolate chips Directions: Heat your oven to 350 degrees. Line your pans with either foil or parchment paper and set them aside. You do not need to grease the pans - the foil, or parchment paper, stops the cookies from sticking. Either in a stand up mixer, or by hand, cream together the butter (or margarine) and shortening. Add the sugars, then the eggs and vanilla. Mix in the flour, the cocoa powder, salt and baking soda. Add in the chocolate chips. Drop dough by rounded tablespoons on to the prepared cookie sheets. Make sure they are about 2 inches apart because cookies spread when baking. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the cookie is set. Cool on the baking sheet for about 2 or 3 minutes then transfer to a wire rack to finish cooling. Enjoy! |
